Earlier this month, Apple stopped associating EarPods with a power adapter for the iPhone 12 series and its existing list of devices. While we have been hearing rumors that Samsung will not be charging the Galaxy S21 series even before the iPhone 12 is launched, a new report from the South Korean media states that the Galaxy S21 will also not have earphones.
A report from ChosunBiz cites industry sources familiar with the matter. Similar to Apple’s new sales box, this strategic move will lead to integrated packaging for Samsung flags.
For those who don't know, Samsung has been providing USB-C AKG earphones and 25W charging bricks for its mobile phones. While most Android smartphones stopped plugging in earphones, Samsung used to be one of the few OEMs that continued the tradition of ear plugs.
If the rumors are true, Samsung's communications team will definitely have a bad time. Shortly after Apple announced its plans to remove the power adapter, Samsung's Caribbean official Facebook page shared a proud post about the charger's presence. I will add a screenshot to the post below as long as it is possible to remove it next time.
Considering this, Samsung is better prepared to stop installing chargers and earphones. Unlike Apple indirectly forcing you to purchase a new charging brick by attaching a USB-C cable to Lightning, Samsung has been using USB-C power adapters in its recent apartments.
We will not have to wait long to see if Samsung will remove the power and charger adapter. According to the latest reports, Samsung could launch the Galaxy S21 series later this year or early next year. Whenever that happens, the device will be shipped with One UI 3.1 based on Android 11.
